Find the fault. Fix it once.

Most callouts start with a story: it trips when it rains, the kettle kills the lights, something smells hot near a point. We start there, then test — board, connections, the circuit — instead of swapping parts at random.

If it is an emergency (burning smell, sparking, smoke), call first and switch the circuit off if you can do it safely. Do not keep resetting.

When we find the fault we repair it to code, retest, and tell you if the rest of the run is on borrowed time.

Diagnosis

What you noticed, then the meter.

When it happens matters — rain, evening, kettle on. That saves time on site.

  • We test the board, the circuit and the connections.
  • Faults are isolated: a point, a join, damaged cable, water in an outdoor fitting.
  • You get a clear call on repair versus a wider issue.
Outlet repair after a fault

The repair

Fix the cause, not just the symptom.

A new faceplate on a burnt outlet is not a repair. We replace what failed and check why it failed.

  • Repair or replace the faulty point, join or cable.
  • Retest the circuit before we pack up.
  • Flag if the rest of the run should be upgraded while we are there.
Switchboard during fault diagnosis

Don’t wait

Warm outlets and buzzing are early warnings.

Resetting a breaker without finding why is how small faults become fires.

  • Burning smell or sparking: off at the board if safe, then call.
  • After-hours callouts are available within limited hours.
  • A licensed diagnosis is faster than a bag of spare fittings.
